Beer of the Month – Alhambra Reserva 1925

The very classy embossed text on the label-less bottle is the first thing the greats you when you pick up a bottle of Alhambra Reserva 1925, one of Spain’s best beers. Alhambra themselves describe the bottle as “an elite design, bowling pin, embossed bottle” a bit wording for my liking but it does look good and you do feel like your drinking something special. With an alcohol content of 6.4% percent its golden-amber in colour and full bodied and slightly bitter in taste, due to its slow fermentation process. Best enjoyed washing down some cured Spanish ham or extra aged vintage cheese during a late Sunday afternoon lunch. Where can you find it, Ortiga on Brunswick Street. Ortiga is a newly opened restaurant with a street level tapas bar and stylish basement dining room. The tapas bar offers an awesome selection of exotic Spanish hams and cured meats as well as vintage cheeses. The food along with the atmosphere of the freshly renovated and stylish interior are the perfect setting for you to make your way through their list of many Spanish beers including Alhambra Reserva 1925.
